This is my second experience buying from Handy’s, first with the downtown location. Very pleasant trade-in and buying experience with Chris Carey. The process took a little less than an hour, which was a third of the time it took to buy from Shearer VW. The windshield had a small crack, which they were waiting on. We still took the vehicle home and they made sure to follow up and pay for the replacement once the part came in.

I don't generally give anyone a perfect score and this one may be premature (I've only had the truck for a week..) but as much as I'd love to find something to complain about, I can't. I looked at trucks for the better part of a year and narrowed My search down to 4 (2 at a dealer in NY, one at a dealer in Burlington and one at Handy's) I did most of My communicating by email and got the most attention from Chris at Handy's. I made My wishes clear and He was very accommodating and put up with a lot of hemming and hawing from Me. We got close on that vehicle but I was on a tight budget so He sent Me a link on another that would be in My price range. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but it was close enough to go take a look at. In hindsight, it's entirely possible that He knew once He got Me there, I'd buy that first one, specially after taking the second one for a ride. To this I say, bravo! It worked like a charm and I drove home in My first pick that afternoon! (It did involve a further dip into the cookie jar but...) I had one minor issue on My drive back to the Islands, the TPMS light came on. I contacted Chris and He set Me up with the service folks tout suite and they took care of the problem and then some... I spent a fair amount of time waiting for paperwork and sitting in the service area and in that time I heard a lot of banter among the various employees. The chemistry between them was really good and positive, the people seemed genuinely happy to be there, that's important!! I've been in the sales and service business for 43 years and I can smell a rat from 100 paces, that being said, these folks are either really nice to deal with or the best cast of bull@#!*ers I've ever seen. I'll keep Ya posted on the latter after some time goes by. For the time being, I stand by My first impression, Great place to buy a vehicle and likely a pretty decent place to get it fixed as well... Stay tuned, if I find that something to complain about, You can bet your backsides, I will.
